KINGWOOD BAND BOOSTERS NEEDS YOU!

 

Kingwood Band Boosters is a parent organization that works in conjunction with your Band Directors to support and enhance ALL of the Band Programs in Kingwood.   Our membership fee is ONLY $20.00 per family.  We have a very strong Booster Club that supports our Middle and High School Bands in many ways.  Everyone is well aware that our school district has implemented budget cuts that have had an effect on Band and other Fine Arts programs.  Band Boosters has been very instrumental in providing funds that have been vital to the operation of the Band Program.  Some examples of our support include:

 

• Provide over $15,000 for clinicians to extend our students’ learning experience (this includes Middle & High School Bands)                                                                                 
• Reimburse $40 of your student’s summer band camp tuition (even if you have more than one student in band, each will receive the reimbursement for attending an approved band camp)
• Award summer band camp scholarships
• Award college scholarships for seniors (This year we awarded 14!!!)
• Provide over $18,000 to accompanists for local and state UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest (this includes Middle and High School Bands)
• Plan parties and rewards for the students, i.e., cold soda at each football game when the band is playing (this includes Middle and High School Bands)
• Concession Scholarships (awarded to Middle and High School Band students for parent volunteer hours)
• Provide meals and snacks for the ’04 Disney bus trip.
• Establish an ’04-’05 Music Education Fund for needed items at each campus due to cuts in Humble ISD’s Fine Arts Program
