Toyota Center News - 4/8/08
Many of our KM4B parents have requested another opportunity for TABC training. An online training course is available through the company listed below (same one we used for the training course earlier). In addition - they have classes scheduled for the following dates and locations. If you chose to do one of these options - you will need to make sure you get your certificate and a copy - KM4B needs a copy for their files. Please contact me - Lori Odell (KM4B Toyota Center coordinator) upon completion of either the online or class TABC certification. I can be reached at lori707@kingwoodcable.com or cell phone 713-907-2313.
Anyone that would like to get a TABC Certification, here are local classes being conducted by Tara Pogue. Please follow the instructions if interested.

KM4B SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS – TOYOTA CENTER OPPORTUNITES
Hey everybody! Back by popular request – the Toyota Center Fundraiser is back! All earned monies from the Toyota Center will go directly towards the upcoming KM4B "chance of a lifetime" trip next year. Our first TABC server training course (this last Sunday) was well attended, and as promised – here is the list of upcoming schedule.
Friday, April 11th ROCKETS vs. Suns
Report time at Toyota Center is 5:15
Monday, April 14th Bruce "The BOSS" Springsteen concert
Report time at Toyota Center is 5:15
Monday April 21st ROCKETS PLAYOFF GAMES
(pending on ROCKETS qualifying)
Please check your calendars and sign-up for these events if you have not already done so.
We are shooting for a minimum group of 8 volunteers for each event. The more volunteers we have, the better/more profitable booth we get to cover. 12-14 volunteers gets us to a top booth – more than that we can cover more than one booth (double profits!).
ALL VOLUNTEERS are required to complete an online "RCS training" course before serving. It is basically a review of TABC training – it is FREE – and completion certificate is automatically forwarded to the Toyota Center Server Management company (Levy Restaurants). Please click on attachment of this email for complete details. If you can't open the attachment, details are at the end of this email.
VOLUNTEER OUTFIT consists of black pants, a white shirt, and dark closed toe comfy shoes (you will be standing quite a bit). A clean uniform (red) shirt is lent to each volunteer at the Toyota Center each event we attend. Lockers are provided for us to change into these shirts (we bring combo locks). Each volunteer will be given a new baseball style cap (red –with the Rockets R on it) that they are responsible for bringing back and using each time they come to serve. Only 1 will be issued per volunteer.
A CARPOOL group to these KM4B trip support opportunities will be leaving from Kapok Tree Toys – one hour and 15 minutes before report time at the Toyota Center. While travel time may be quicker than this – we need time to park, walk to the appropriate stations at Toyota Center – pick up uniforms (first come first serve) – etc. etc.
MISSED THE TABC Training for TOYOTA CENTER?
If you missed this last TABC training but would like to join in on the fun – please contact me Lori Odell (KM4B Toyota Center coordinator) at 281-359-4402 or lori707@kingwoodcable.com . If we get a large enough group we can conduct a second class OR if you need more flexibility – there is an online TABC course that you can take anytime at your leisure.
