Scholarship Application Form
For seniors interested in a scholarship sponsored by the Kingwood Band Boosters, the scholarship application form is available online in two different formats. Select the version that will work best for you. Please write very legibly or fill the form out on the computer before printing it out. This will be very helpful. Please keep in mind, your family must be a member of Kingwood Band Boosters to be eligible for a scholarship.
The completed form must be turned in to Mrs. Zoet-King no later than 3:15 pm on Tuesday, April 6th, 2010.

Senior Scholarships

Kingwood Band Boosters Academic Scholarships

Each spring, Band Boosters awards a limited number of academic scholarships.  They are awarded from (2) different categories:

1.  Academic Scholarships of $1,000.00 
      
One Linda Tiner Scholarship of $1,500.00 in honor of the first band director at KHS 
2.  Concession Academic Scholarship of $500.00                            

The Academic Scholarship of $1000.00   
Graduating seniors enrolled in band through the second semester of their senior year are invited to apply for a $1,000.00 academic scholarship.  The awarding of the scholarship is based on leadership activities/service achievements or musical achievements.
The Linda Tiner Scholarship of $1,500.00 is awarded to the most outstanding applicant

The Concession Academic Scholarship of $500.00
One (1) $500.00 academic scholarship is awarded to a senior enrolled in band through the second semester of their senior year based upon parent concession stand volunteer time.  The Band Boosters Concession Coordinator will award this by allotting a credit for every shift a parent works in the concession stand, 9th through 12th grade.  The winner is chosen lottery style from the parents’ credits.
The winner is notified in May of their child’s graduating year.

2010 Summer Band Camp Scholarship

Is your child planning to go to a band camp this summer?  Then he/she may be eligible for the $60 Band Camp Scholarship.  Kingwood Band Boosters, as in the past, will be providing a scholarship in the amount of $60 each for students attending a recognized University Band Camp.  To qualify, your family must have been a Band Booster Member as of March 31, 2010.  This is one of the many benefits of your $25 membership fee. If you have any questions, you may contact  Rhonda Evans at  281-360-9658.
