REMINDER - WE NEED YOUR HELP!!
ALL KM4B Parents/Students: Work has begun on this year's slide show for the end of year Band Banquet. And while this is one of the fun highlights of the year, we can't do it without your help! We need your pictures of band students and activities from throughout the year! So please take a few moments and help us out! Especially you parents! We need pictures from Freshman students all the way to Seniors. This show is for everyone! So please help! We prefer to have digital pictures or movies (avi, mpg). Please copy them to CD and place it with your student's name on it in the marked box in the band hall. If you provide printed photos, we will return them to your band student during class. If possible, consider e-mailing the digital pictures to: Joseph Fochtman e-mail: icedragonlover@hotmail.com Be sure to indicate your band student when e-mailing them. I will acknowledge receiving them so if you do not get a response, I didn't get them for some reason and you may have to place them on a CD. SENIOR PARENTS: You have received a separate request for specific senior pictures. Please help out and get them in ASAP. The deadline is fast approaching - April 15th.
If you have any questions, let me know.
Joseph Fochtman KM4B Co-President e-mail: icedragonlover@hotmail.com

Kingwood High School Band 2009 Spring Semester Trip Meeting
TRIP MEETING: Thursday, March 6th– 7:30 PM – KHS Auditorium
Even if you attended the interrupted meeting Tuesday, Feb. 26, please read this entire message. Not all information was covered at the meeting. There will be another meeting this Thursday, March 6. If you attended last week, please bring your trip packet as there will not be additional copies for those who already received one.
There's stuff you really need to know…
About the 2008 – 2009 KHS band trip...
To Washington D.C. for the Inaugural Parade
Or Chicago, IL. For the St. Patrick's Day Parade
OR New York, N.Y. to perform at Carnegie Hall.
If you attended last week's interrupted meeting and received an information hand-out…you do not have all the information!
If you missed last week's interrupted meeting…you have another chance to get the information!
High profile and involved band trips take A LOT of planning by everyone. It is important to start the process INFORMED. Please attend our re-scheduled meeting to ensure the success of another exciting band experience for our students.
2008-2009 KHS Band Students & Parents
As most of you know, the KHS band is proud to perform for people across our nation. This is not only educational for the students, but shows others what a wonderful band program we have right here in Kingwood. We have begun to make plans for next year’s trip (2009). We are going to continue to put our band in the National Spotlight. We are thus needing to meet with parents and students to discuss the what, when, where and how that many of us, as yet, don’t even know that we need to ask.
We have submitted applications for the following trips:
¨ Washington D. C. – Presidential Inauguration Parade – January 2009 ¨ Chicago, Ill – St. Patrick’s Day Parade – March 2009 ¨ New York, NY – Manhattan Concert Project – March 2009
I would like to stress that at present we have only applied for these venues. This presents the following questions:
¨ How will this work? ¨ When will we know where we will be traveling?
The most important fact is that planning needs to start now! As we did with the Rose Parade, we will start with an informative meeting to discuss all of this. Please plan on attending this important trip meeting.
