OUR CURRENT
VOLUNTEER NEEDS

To ensure a successful concession season, we need fill these roles below before we open our general concession volunteer slots. Please consider signing up!

 

TURNER CONCESSIONS LEADS

1 - 2 Volunteers Needed

Physical Demand / Estimated Time Commitment: 

  • Not much physical demand. 

  • Most of time is spent setting up the season, and following up with the pod teams, stand managers, and purchasing coordinator to ensure a smooth season.

Responsibilities & Description: 

  • Pre-Season: 

    • Move in Day for Turner // Coordinates (8-10 volunteers)

    • Works with Volunteer Coordinator set volunteer numbers/needs for each game. 

    • Schedule stand managers for the season. 

    • Ensure all Stand Managers have training and food certifications. 

    • One District Meeting with all HS Concession Leads 

    • Works with the Purchasing Coordinator to set budgets for food, drink, and ice buyers. 

    • Update Menu and Prices forms last year’s season. 

  • Mid-Season: 

    • Ensure operations run smoothly with the pod team, purchasing coordinator, and stand managers. 

    • Email set menus to Turner staff Tuesdays/Wednesdays before Game

    • Monthly Band Booster board meeting report (1st Tuesday of every month) 

    • Facility Repair Requests sent to Mr. Morrison 

  • Post Season: 

    • Move Out Day for Turner //  Coordinates (8-10 volunteers) 


Other Comments: 

  • Detailed training and guidance throughout the season will be provided for all new volunteers in this position! 

 

STORAGE POD TEAM @ TURNER

6 Volunteers Needed // Teams of 2, Once a Month

Physical Demand / Estimated Time Commitment: 

  • Each team of two will serve 1 Game Per Month (Sept, Oct, November)

  • Need to be able to lift food and drinks. 


Responsibilities & Description: 

  • Each game will consist of two team members that stay the entire football game. 

    • Arrive before 4:30 pm to prep our concession stand carts with pre-determined supplies from our storage pod (spreadsheet provided). 

  • During the Game: 

    • 1 team member stays at storage pod throughout the game to update inventory, checks in new volunteers, and help direct food / ice deliveries that arrive at Turner. 

    • 1 team member serves as a runner to distribute specific supplies to concession stands as needed throughout the game, and complete a final sweep of concession stands at the end of the game to make sure nothing is left behind. 

  • After the game: 

    • Return chick fil a and papa johns delivery bags to their respective restaurants. 

    • Load all carts and dollies back into the storage pod. 

Other Comments: 

  • Detailed training and guidance will be provided for all new volunteers!! 

  • Find a friend and sign up to be a team! 

 

STAND MANAGER @ TURNER

8 - 10 Volunteers Needed
Please don’t skip over this one because it sounds intimidating! 

It isn’t as bad as the title makes it sound.

Physical Demand / Estimated Time Commitment: 

  • With 8 - 10 stand manager’s total, our stand managers will only be serving 1 - 2 times a month. The majority of our games only require 4 -6 turner stand managers. In general games occur bi-weekly. 

Responsibilities & Description: Serve for either the first opening shift, or the second closing shift. 

  • Opening Shift Overview: 

    • Arrive at Turner at 4:30

    • Organize your stand volunteers and delegate roles (cashiers, servers, drinks, and food) You will be notified regarding how many volunteers are in each stand when they arrive. Start food prep. 

    • Sign off on the cash bag with the treasurer and one other volunteer. 

    • Take note of what food / drinks / supplies you are in need of throughout the game and ask for more when needed. 

  • Closing Shift Overview: 

    • Arrive at Turner by 7:00 pm

    • Continue to take note of what food / drinks / supplies you are in need of throughout the game and ask for more when needed. Continue this throughout 3rd quarter. 

    • After 3rd quarter: Help and direct the volunteers to close down the stand including: cleaning equipment, returning food / drinks to the storage pod / and help count money with the treasurer and one other volunteer. 


 Other Comments: 

  • Food service certification is required, but the BAND BOOSTERS pay for your training. Training can be completed at your own house. 

  • Training and guidance will be provided for all new volunteers!!

There are many reasons of course, but the most important is clearly that we want to help make band a great program for our kids. And we honestly have fun doing it!
