Congratulations Catherine and Jeff!Catherine Cunningham (bassoon) and Jeff Sparks (percussion) made the Texas All-State Band! Over 25,000 students from across the state auditioned to fill 250 spots on the All-State band. Way to go you two!

Special Thanks to Spring Creek Barbeque: Recently they donated three briskets to Band Boosters after one of our refrigerators at Turner Stadium went out, spoiling the brisket and sausage for Saturday's concessions. Please consider stopping there for lunch or dinner and let Chris and his team know that we appreciate their impromptu donation on behalf of our band students. (They're located in Atascocita on 1960; their website is www.springcreekbarbeque.com)

IMPORTANT PARKING NOTICE: The band will travel in six student buses and one load bus this year. When buses return after games and other events, the bus drivers need to be able to park next to the curb just outside the band hall entrance to allow the students to exit safely. Please do not park in this area as you wait to pick up your student.

Don't forget our 8th Note Yard Sign Painting Party, which be held Saturday, September 19th from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the KHS picnic area. This is a great activity for the freshmen, although any band student wanting a yard sign may order. It's a fun event, complete with pizza and drinks---Mr. Balch never misses it. Orders may be turned into the band hall and must be received by Thursday, September 17th. Please note that like the season football ticket sale, this event is not a fundraiser for Kingwood Band Boosters, but provided as a service to support the band. Click here for an order form.
